Bama's Foster not dwelling on November nightmare (AP)

NEW ORLEANS ? Alabama's Cade Foster has an advantage over other college kickers who've had costly misfires in big games. He's got a chance for redemption.

Foster missed three field goals in the second-ranked Crimson Tide's last meeting with No. 1 LSU. Alabama lost that one in overtime, 9-6. The heat got so intense Foster had to temporarily shut down his Facebook page.

Foster says he didn't make many other changes, didn't torture himself watching replays and didn't hide in his room.

When he found out Alabama would get another shot in Monday night's BCS title game, he says he felt "pure joy," not relief.

Foster has also watched kickers around the country miss clutch field goals this season. He's got company on teams like Stanford, Boise State, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.
