Should I get the kids a pet rabbit? | Dallas Single Mom

With kids come pets and sometimes lots of pets. I remember always having pets. I grew up with a lot of pets and I know that my kids are getting older where one day they will want a pet. Of course pets are a big responsibility and one that can be very expensive and also involve a lot of time. I honestly have more reservations about getting a pet especially a pet rabbit and all of their Rabbit Cages?and rabbit food. I received a press release from Petco with regards to getting a pet rabbit in February.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 15, 2012

Hop into Leap Year with the perfect cotton-tailed addition: a rabbit! According to PetFinder.com, over 1.4 million households are proud to call these furry friends their pets thanks to their outgoing and social demeanors. To celebrate Leap Year and National Adopt a Rabbit Month, Petco? stores nationwide will honor bunnies during the monthly Meet the Critters events on the weekend of February 18 and 19, 2012 from 1-2pm. Petco does not sell rabbits because they strongly encourage pet adoption; therefore, they work closely with a number of shelter groups, such as the House Rabbit Society, to give rabbits a forever home through adoption. Meet the Critters is a free, family-friendly event, enjoyable for people of all ages, which also invites rabbit owners to bring their cuddly pets in-store for a special meet and greet. Store associates and adoption groups will be on hand at the events to further educate current and hopeful rabbit parents about the benefits of owning a rabbit, as well as necessary care that is involved when being a pet parent to these special animals. Some things that kids and adults can learn in an educational seminar over the weekend include: ?Chomper? can be a common nickname to bunnies for good reason; their teeth never stop growing! To keep rabbits entertained and healthy, they enjoy new toys frequently Rabbits are quiet, but still very social and love interaction with their pet parents Rapunzel isn?t the only one that enjoys a nice hair brushing, being soft and clean comes easy for these critters as long as they receive a weekly brushing Rabbits are easily house-trained and generally sanitary, making them great companion pets in right households For families ready to hop into Leap Year with a rabbit, more information can be found at http://www.petco.com or visit a local Petco store in February.
