Caprice, it was a pleasure hearing you speak on your experiences in business at this years ?Pure Fashion Show? at London?s Kensington Olympia. How important is it for you to share your experiences in business with others?
Today kids just want to be the next reality TV star or WAG. ?You need a lot of ambition and will power and you need to put in the hours to truly make success happen. Work hard and do the research ? long term success comes with a lot of hard work, hours and patience. I came from a very humble background and the main reason why I love speaking publicly about my story is to inspire and to share my journey and encourage fellow entrepreneurs to realise that they too can achieve their goals
What are the pros and cons of being your own boss?
The pros are not having to answer to anyone. ?However the cons are my limitations, in knowing I can take it to a certain level of success and then I need a lot more experience to help the business progress further. Also not letting my ego get in the way and not making decisions on ego ? that is something I am constantly working on because at the end of the day it?s about my customers and not about me.
Has being a woman in business made it harder for you to succeed or has it brought some advantages?
It provided a platform for marketing and the money from my modelling days helped open up the doors. At the end of the day, anyone can stereotype me as they please. I have the results on paper and I don?t have to prove anything to anyone anymore.
