The purpose of the Premier Field Engineer (PFE) position is to provide Microsoft customers with reliable technical solutions to the complex integration problems associated with business solutions built on the Microsoft platform. The PFE Team supports a diverse variety of technical solutions built with Microsoft technology and products Typical tasks performed in this role include specific problem isolation and correction, user and kernel mode debugging, conducting application design and supportability reviews, performance tuning, application stability consulting/troubleshooting, code reviews, and porting/migration assistance, configuration management, pre-rollout testing and general development consulting. The prospective PFE candidate should draw upon all resources at Microsoft, to advise and consult on the use of Microsoft technologies to avoid such problems in the future.

Primary responsibilities include providing technical and creative solutions for service delivery by visiting customer problems sites, while ensuring customer satisfaction with Microsoft SQL, Networking, BackOffice and Desktop software. The successful candidate will be capable of performing on-site support of on-going support activities including but not limited to Premier Support, supportability content development, and escalation team support.

The Rapid Response Engineer acts as the customer-visible point of escalation and resolution for Premier Support and provides advanced technical support to corporate customers and end users for complex products, including highly escalated issues. Provides support in-person at the customer?s place of business, as well as via telephone, written correspondence, and electronic media.

Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following areas is required:

Database - SQL 7.0/2000/2005/2008, Troubleshooting, Disaster Recovery, File Replication, Performance Tuning, Security, Day-to-day support/administration

Infrastructure/Management Technologies:

? Superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in System Center Operations Manager with experience in managing medium to large environments.

? Troubleshoot all aspects of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) effectively and understand the product configuration, flow and logging in detail.

? Understand fully the base Operating System and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Management Packs and be able to discuss in detail at least one of the following Management Packs: Active Directory, Exchange, IIS or SQL including configuration, tuning and customization.

? Experience in other Microsoft Management technologies, including Active Directory services (AD), SCCM, System Center Essentials and WSUS is desired.

Messaging ? Exchange 2000/2003/2007, LDAP, OWA, Clustering, ADC, LCS

OS and Directory ? Windows 2000/2003/Vista, Directory Services, Active Directory, AD/AM, MIIS, Dfs, Virtual Server, ADFS

Developer Technologies - .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework, Web Services, XML, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WCF, WPF, WWF, InfoPath, Visual Studio.NET

Information Worker and Collaboration ? Sharepoint Portal Server (SPS)/MOSS 2007, Windows SharePoint Server (WSS), Content Manager Server (CMS), Groove, IIS, Office

Enterprise Application Integration ? BizTalk, HIS, Windows Workflow Foundation, Commerce Server

Skills requirements:

-MCSD, MCSE or other applicable advanced certification strongly preferred

-Exceptional customer service, communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills are required

-Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate with development and other internal organizations at a peer level

-Must have the ability to work independently w/ minimal supervision and as part of a team

-Must possess current passport or be able to obtain passport within 90 days of hire

-The position will require travel to customer sites about 30-40%
