Thousands march in 2012 Kaimuki Christmas Parade

HONOLULU ?

Nearly 2,000 people marched in the 66th annual Kaimuki Christmas Parade Thursday night.

Santa Claus was on hand to the lead the colorful parade of walkers.? More than 40 decorated cars and trucks rode down the parade route on Waialae Avenue.

Even wanna-be reindeers were all decked out to walk their owners.

Santa also had a message about one of his favorite communities.

"Because it's a great way to bring attention to Kaimuki businesses.? It's a special place.? It's a wonderful neighborhood," said Claus.

Joining Santa were Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as well as local lawmakers and firefighters.
